Space-The Final Frontier?

Is it just me or does everything seem easier in outer space? I mean take this guy, Stephen Robinson of the space shuttle, Discovery. He pulled ceramic strips of filler from the bottom of the shuttle-SANS INSTRUMENTS!!!! Meanwhile, here on earth, we've been pulling strips from the bottoms of things for, oh I don't know, since the beginning of time! And with our bare hands even!!

Don't get me wrong. I love an astronaut just as much as the next guy or gal and I respect the hard work and intelligence it takes to become an astronaut. Also, there can't be an American anywhere who isn't furiously laughing that we beat the ol' Russians in the pulling filler from the bottom of a shuttle category. Yes, that's right! Not only did Stephen successfully pulled
filler from the bottom of a space shuttle without use of a hacksaw-he was also the very first person to ever accomplish such a feat.

Yes, Stephen Robinson will be in the record books along with Dolph Hutchins, first man to eat a radiator; Chrissy Ferguson, the first woman to bench press three cars; and Nano Hajay, the first lady to painstakingly carve a canoe out of a toothpick. Pulling fibers from a space shuttle? Hmm. Seems questionable. Maybe if he'd done it without gloves. But see, even then,
it's virtually impossible to be the first to do anything down here on earth. What can you do after someone's already eaten a radiator? What entries are left in our record books? It's maddening. In space, no one's even worn their uniform inside-out yet. What an unchartered territory space is! It's almost enough to make you want to go through the entire space program just so you can climb in a shuttle and be the first to eat a radiator in space.
