the splendid splinter

ahh, ted williams. the kid. yes, the "splendid splinter". williams astonished the baseball-watching public with 17 stellar seasons between 1939 and 1960 for the boston red sox, six times leading the league in batting, twice winning baseball's coveted triple crown (although he was NOT voted MVP either of those years!), and forever etching his image in american folklore by taking four years off to fly fighter planes in world war ii.

what williams is most famous for, however, is being the last man to bat .400, which brings me to the point of this blog post. this is our 400th blog post. just like ted williams.

also, ted williams' son successfully had his father's head severed and frozen, to which (happily) there is no animal club blog corollary.
